I've been writing songs since I was about 12 years old. I think I've written & recorded more than 200 songs. (Be thankful you will never hear most of them.)

I like to write about my life as it happens. Or as I wish it had happened.

My songs expose the trials of life in gritty urban landscapes. I suppose I'm influenced by my favorite writers (John Updike, Jim Harrison, Chuck Palahniuk, and Thomas Pynchon), as well as great songwriters like Steve Earle, JJ Cale, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and Lucinda Williams.

I like to think of my lyrics as part poetry, part graffiti, invoking the same unfocused images of musical artists like Daniel Lanois, Chris Whitley, Damien Rice, and Leonard Cohen.

lyrics

advice from a child

backseat of my car

complicate your life

crying alone

the feeling

i'm from texas

living in mexico

the one

only lonely people

over me

scissors to stone

seagulls in the sky

the thrill

touch me

walls of tangerine

writing on the wall
